Ainsely & her 'brother'

Here is a video of Ainsley playing with Fletch! They don't spend alot of time in such close proximity - only because Ainsley likes to pull out his hair! I think Ainsley enjoyed this very much ... Fletch maybe not so much : )

Growing like a weed

Sadly, spring has still not yet arrived to Cold Lake .. it visited us for a few days here and there, but hasn't decided to stay yet! We are currently getting 5-10 centimeters of snow - and really hoping that this will be the end of it!

Ainsley has been providing Peter & I with lots of 'patience testing activities' ... she is really starting to get into everything, and enjoying the different reactions we provide her with - good and bad. We've recently decided to create a space for her toys behind the couch in the family room - rather than have them spread out all over the room ; ) She is not too sure about playing back there without us in view all the time, even though we are not that far away. Despite this mild separation anxiety, she did stay in the nursery at church this morning for a whole hour! That sets a new record : )

Here are some photos of her new play area:

Checking it out for the first time:

Ainsley is also extremely adept at thoroughly exploring a room ... any room, any time : ) And despite her nice new play area - and all the toys she has, she seems to be happier playing on the other side of the room with whatever she might find.

She is growing fast and will soon be 11 months! She & I continue to have fun with our other mom & baby friends, especially since many of the babies are crawling, standing and walking ; )

Mad Skills - part two

This whole standing thing is really starting to cause a lot of extra work for me! But, I am proud of my little girl, so I had to show these pictures : ) I left the room for a few minutes and was putting away laundry down the hall. Ainsley was playing quietly in her room ... a little too quietly ...

I took a few pictures and video before she noticed me, and then she heard me snickering - I gave myself away - it was just too cute!

I tried to get her to help me clean up the books, but that sort of backfired ... she doesn't quite understand the concept of cleaning up a mess yet ; )

Mad skills ....

Ainsley has mastered a new skill - and that is pulling herself up to stand. Her favorite place to pull up on is my lap/my legs while I'm sitting. She also really enjoys pulling up on the table beside the couch and getting into my coasters.

This is a very new skill, and as of today, she is walking along the couch while holding on to it!

As you'll note in the above photos, Ainsleys' hair was getting very scraggly in the back ... so, I finally got brave enough to try out my hair cutting skills! And, it turned out very well - I had to bribe her with food to get her to stay still, but here is the end result. As I told Peter in an email, 'if its possible she's even cuter now than she was before!'

Ainsley is also the proud owner of a stylin' new spring jacket - now, we just spring to arrive!
