In posting the last blog entry, I added a picture of Ainsley in her first pigtails ... then I realized that I hadn't posted any of the other photos of her with them. They were so cute - she was mostly patient with me while I put them in her hair and they stayed in for most of the day. So ... without further ado, here are some more shots of Ainsley and her first pigtails : )

Easter
First, I just want to explain why I decided to make the blog private. The reason I did it was just so that any photos/information I post of ourselves & Ainsley are kept private. I don't like the idea of her pictures being available for anyone to look at, copy, or steal. I am trying to become more vigilant in protecting myself, and Ainsley while on the internet.
Now, on to our Easter! It was a pretty busy weekend ... on Good Friday we went to church and then started work on some projects around the house. I did some painting in the living room/kitchen which took up most of the weekend days. Friday night was Young Adults out at the Colbournes'. Saturday was more work around the house and then the Cold Lake Bullarama in the evening!! We had so much fun ... we sat with a group of about 10 of our friends to watch the action - we had much better seats this year since we've learned that the secret is to arrive early! We were having so much fun that we forgot to take pictures - but it is a semi pro bull riding competition .. lots of cowboys and lots of fun :)
Sunday we had a ham dinner at home and a nice relaxing day. In the evening we watched 'The Passion' for the first time. It was such an incredible depiction of Christs' suffering - we were definitely moved by this film.
On Monday, we were out to the Colbournes' again for dinner with a bunch of other people. And I just have to stop and say - we are so blessed (beyond words) with amazing friends! I've been thinking about it lately, and really I think we have more friends here in Cold Lake than we've ever had. I am starting to really love it here, and I now realize just how hard it will be to move away when that day comes :(
Ainsley was of course, cute as always in her Easter dress. We did find it hard to capture any decent photos of her wearing it, but we sure tried! The dress was handmade by a lady from Peter's parents church .. it was so perfect for this occasion. Here she is with her Easter gifts: a purple Easter basket and bunny from Grandma & Grandpa (with chocolate inside for Mommy & Daddy); and from us she got a big stuffed bunny, some new barrettes, an egg dipping kit, and a new cup with a straw in it!
We are loving the Spring weather and looking forward to a fun summer with another season of 'Soul Swingers' baseball and lots of bonfires! Also looking forward to my Mom's visit next week .. we have lots to do (including celebrating Ainsley's 1st birthday!) so I'm sure she'll be kept busy : )

'Breathtaking'
When Ainsley was a few weeks old, I gently blew on her face one day. To our surprise, she reacted by gasping - like the wind was being knocked out of her. Obviously that wasn't the case, but the reaction she had to it was priceless! Since that day, she continues to have a similar reaction anytime something blows across her face, whether its the wind outside, a fan or us. The other night, Peter was fanning her with a storybook and she gave us a great little show, which we of course captured on video. But first, I posted the video from when she was just a few weeks old when we initially discovered her reacting this way. I apologize for it being sideways ...
And now, the video of 11 month Ainsley having a very similar reaction - too cute!
What a funny girl ... she certainly keeps her parents entertained : )
